3 month course (Only 2 spaces available every 3 months)

You will receive instruction in a 3-month course on one of the following subjects:

• Study of musical principles and concepts
• Application of piano skills in practice

Lessons will be scheduled on a weekly basis throughout the entire duration of 3 months. In the event that you are unable to attend a lesson, kindly inform me in advance so that we can potentially arrange for an alternative time (depending on my availability).

You are required to participate in weekly classes, each lasting for a duration of 30 minutes.

This course is a one off payment of £200

• Study of musical principles and concepts

Throughout the 3-month music theory course, we will cover the essential subjects outlined in the ABRSM grade 1 book. You will be given this book, which you can take home and use to complete additional work outside of class. You will perform musical compositions on the piano, but it is important to note that this course primarily focuses on enhancing your understanding of music theory.

Outside of lessons, you will not require access to a piano or keyboard.

You will also receive an ABRSM practice book, which you must bring to class every week to ensure that the book is recorded.

• Application of piano skills in practice

During the duration of your 3-month practical piano course, you will study and practise the repertoire exam piece for Grade 1 of the ABRSM examination. Our objective is to successfully perform a piece from the repertoire. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to enjoy playing songs and browse through my collection of music books to select your favourite song to begin with.

You will be instructed on proper hand placement for both the left and right hands, as well as correct sitting posture and the proper technique for playing the piano.

You will receive relevant music sheets that we are currently working on in class, along with an ABRSM practice book. It is essential that you bring this book to class every week to ensure that it is documented.

In order to maintain your practice, it is necessary to have access to a piano or keyboard. I possess a keyboard that is easily reachable, and I will make arrangements for it to be delivered to you. Kindly be aware that this keyboard must be returned at the end of your 3 month course.

To successfully complete the 3-month course, you must meet the following requirements:

• ndividuals who are at least 9 years old

• Individuals with no prior experience in playing the piano

• Consent to being photographed and filmed during lessons for the purpose of featuring on the Collins Music school website, flyers, and social media.

• You have the capability to successfully finish the entire 3-month course within the specified duration as stated in the advertisement.
